adventures in babysitting

i had sam this weekend while mike and cheryl went to a wedding... took him to the lake and we had a ball!! he loved the water.. he was tryin to splash everyone (even beamer) with buckets of water and i couldn't keep him out of the water! hahaha.. he jumped right in with his clothes on most of the time, then asked to get his bathing suit on!

last nite we had a campfire and made smores with mom and dad and it sure was sticky but sooooo good.. mmm love smores.







this morning i went to brush my teeth... it was probably around 9:15 and it was pretty chilly this morning, so i put pants on sam and tshirt, but went i came out of the camp he was down doing "canonballs" off the warf with his clothes on... he says "look at me branda.. cannon ballin in my pants!!" hahahah.. i roared

restless

sometimes i just feel like i'm swimming against the strongest current in the world.. you make a little headway and then boom, you're right back to where you started, or even worse, you're even further behind than when you first began... doesn't seem to be really fair... sometimes i just feel sooo restless and just crave change and something different for my life.. like picking up and moving to a new place...i just don't know.

jess and i headed down to bangor today for some shopping for craig's birthday... we really couldn't find what we wanted, so we had some fun shopping in other store... burlington coat factory... target... we ate lunch at denny's and got totally ripped off cause they have a 40% exchange rate year round.. plus the waitress didn't know what a twoonie was. anyways.. that was one expensive meal!

on sunday night we had the summer staff party for work on the carleton boat that cruises on the saint john river... we had pizza, wings and just some plain old junk food, but it was a good time and a wicked night to be out on the water!

ahhh... just lovin life right now cause i get to have a week off to do absolutely nothing... there's just nothing better than a hot sunny day at the lake.. surrounded by family and just knowing that you don't have to wake up to the annoying sound of an alarm clock for the next week... oh joyous bliss!

my 27th birthday

my birthday... 27 years old.. sometimes i feel like i'm 80 and sometimes i feel like i'm 12.. it's so weird. i had a good day... drove out early to mcadam for church. the new pastor started today, so there was potluck after church (always one of my favourite times) and then mom and i went down to the camp for a bit and just relaxed by the lake. i didn't let mom handle my cake at all...i just didn't want dump cake for my birthday. i came back home in the afternoon and had supper with jess and craig... jess cooked.. it was so yummy!

i think the best part of my day was later on that night when we got a wicked thunder and lightning storm... i always seem to get one for my birthday! it was awesome... i tried so hard to get a wicked picture... we were outside for at least an hour taking pictures!

today was a great day for us.. we took sam down to the canada day parade downtown and there we met up with patria (my cousin), her boyfriend shawn and gabe. we spent the afternoon with them, and had supper at dolan's downtown.

after we ate at dolan's we took the kids to o'dell park to let them play for awhile...it was going to be quite a challenge to keep them up for the fireworks after being outside all day!

we decided to watch the firworks from the northside.. it was a great night.. a little buggy and a bit chilly but the boys loved the fireworks and didn't sleep till we got them in the car!

had a little girl time with cheryl today and got a pre-birthday makeover and did a little shopping.... good result i think. cheryl wouldn't let me take her picture but i think her hair looks better than mine :)
